To promote camaraderie and networking among individuals who have retired or worked within the Arizona Department of Corrections and Arizona Prisons... And to remember those individuals who have contributed to Arizona Corrections and our rich history.

A small group of us in Tucson came together originally in 1998 to casually have coffee and maybe breakfast at the Rincon Market.  We started with about a dozen individuals who had retired from the Arizona Department of Corrections and who also had worked numerous years in corrections and other law enforcement agencies.

Our number grew and soon there were 30-40 people at these morning get togethers.  Former rank or position had no meaning as we reminisced and shared jokes.  Individuals from Phoenix, Safford and Florence also wanted to share in the camaraderie so we created our first luncheon meeting in Florence, Arizona in 2005.  It was fun and highly successful.

Then one of our “founding fathers” Tom Korff became seriously ill and died in 2010.  We used our email list and friendship to come together at his memorial to remember him and his contributions to Arizona corrections. Our group continued to grow and we had another successful luncheon at Florence in 2011.

Many people have asked to be added to our email list so they could learn what was happening among the retirees and former employees of the Arizona Department of Corrections and Arizona Prisons.  It became apparent we needed a better “tool” to exchange information, notify the group of upcoming events such as breakfasts or luncheons as well as sadly remembering our former colleagues.  We also want to record historical events in Arizona corrections so there is an accurate record of our endeavors and achievements. So we created this website for our community of retired correctional professionals.

We care about each other and our profession…..as we share our stories over a cup of coffee.
